As I kind of expected might happen, the kiddo’s mom asked me to come in for a few hours on Friday. I ended up working four hours, which helped make up some of the time earlier in the week. I also worked my usual five-hour shift on Saturday.
Other than taking care of the kiddo, I’ve been getting more yard work done, doing some extra cleaning, and organizing. I have a box of things we no longer use/want that I’d like to donate to a local church-run thrift store. I keep forgetting to call to see if they are even open and able to accept donations.
Tomorrow, the builder and designer we have been working will be coming over. I’m eager to hear their opinion on the changes we made to our house renovation plans. When we met with them at their office, they sounded favorable. I’ve outlined a list of questions to ask, along with a more detailed list of things we would like to see. There are a few additional things I’m not even sure are even feasible, or while they might make sense to us, might not from a design or a financial standpoint. The builder will also be doing a site check for the barn we plan on building next summer. I’m hoping that the changes we made will get us more in line with our original budget. And, if it isn’t, that they will have some suggestions as to what we could do differently. At any rate, the barn needs to happen first, and even that depends on Hubs job situation. No job contract, no barn.
I often find myself thinking that just four years ago, our journey to dig ourselves out of debt had just begun. Crazy that we are now looking at cash flowing a new barn and working on a design to renovate our house! While, yes, we still have debt, what we do have (mortgage and car loan) are both on track for getting paid off. Our retirement contributions are also where they need to be. Amazing the things you can do once you have a plan and set your mind to it!
