Rain, rain, rain and more rain, our forecast for most of the day.
Rain makes for a perfect day to stay home. For me, it also tends to make me feel a little bit on the lazy side. It is days like these that I am ever so thankful that I no longer work a regular job. For the last eight years of my nursing career, I primarily worked giving in-home care to kids on ventilators. A rainy day, combined with eight hours of listening to the rhythmic lull of a vent, made it challenging to stay awake! I never once fell asleep (wouldn’t dare given the acuity of care involved) but rainy days sure were tough!
While I could binge watch HGTV via Sling, I probably won’t. Sling TV is a relatively recent $19.99/month guilty pleasure. I justify it as something that helps keep me from going stir-crazy now that our cooler weather keeps me indoors a lot more. Last Fall and Winter, I spent $7.99/month being subscribed to Netflix. With now having Sling TV, I won’t get Netflix. Figuring it this way, it means it only adds $12/month more to our Fall/Winter budget, which makes me feel a bit better about the cost.
Today I am tending to things in the house, earning some snowflake money via M-Turking and enjoying some extra time catching up on my favorite blogs. At some point, I’ll no doubt crack open a book, watch a show or two and will probably take a nap. On a rainy day, all these things make for a near perfect day!

Going thru my clothes. Going thru my budget for the next two weeks. Listening to my backlog of podcasts. Getting ready to watch a movie, maybe take a nap.

Listening to podcasts always makes me feel like I have someone saying “you can do this!” Very inspiring.
That’s what we had here yesterday, too. We even lost power for a bit during the night Friday due to wind. DH worked on designing the bathroom in his shop and other window placements, LOL while I cleaned house, finished a book and took a nap.

Thankfully no power loss for us. Just a rainy Fall day. My hubby always wanted a bathroom in his shop/barn at our old place. He did have it plumbed, but that is as far as it went. Looking back, it would have made for a nice addition to our property. Something tells me that your DH will actually get his bathroom! Lol. Sounds like the two of you had a nice peaceful day.
I’ve heard good things about Sling! And don’t forget, the library probably has most of the movies and TV shows you’ll be missing without your Netflix subscription. Hope you enjoyed your nap! 🙂
I’ve never been much of a television watcher, but admittedly am totally enjoying this splurge of Sling. Good tip on also utilizing the library.
