Because sometimes we could all use a little motivation.
Week three of Motivational Monday is here! The past week was a bit off for me. Aside from working extra hours, I had several other things going on. Nothing serious, just life! Anyhow, I do want to stay on track with reporting my earnings. I also check in with any of you who are tracking various goals.
Today I transferred $34.01 to our house remodel savings, bringing our new total to $94.01! While I wish it were more, I am on track with how much I need to average per day to hit my goal of $2,020 for the year.
We received the first set of our remodel plans, which are pushing me even more! When the time comes that we can put the plan into action, I know the extra savings from Motivational Monday will come in handy.
Our electric bill was another thing we received. Comparing it to the same time last year, it was down by 28%, which is a savings of $20.92. I’ve decided to tuck that money aside and use it as an additional motivator. Should one of our bills be higher than the previous year, I’ll remove the difference. At the end of the year, I plan on adding the money saved to our house remodel account. Kind of a fun reward for keeping the lights turned off!
How did you do this past week? Are you staying on track with your goals?

I think that is a great idea to put any “savings” aside from the electric bill! We are on the budget plan so ours is the same every month but since we use so much less in the winter, our bill is getting adjusted from $233 to $188 so very happy about that (even though it happens every year, come summer it will shoot right back up). I just like knowing what I have to pay each month.
Your remodel budget is almost at the first $100 – and it is only January!!!! We just ordered the garage door which is already paid for and then 3 new doors – a front door, security door, and garage side door and I am pretty sure I can get this paid for out of dh’s next check and not have to touch the money we have set aside. I’m thinking it would be easier to move than remodel…..

Thanks. I view it as yet another motivator! We still have a long way to go with our savings, but hey, you got to start somewhere!
I think your remodeling sounds exciting! Better yet, that you are cash flowing this out of your dh’s check! It will all come together. Please remind me of this when we start our projects!

In doing the math, I’m about $1 a day behind in my goal for $3000 of MTurks for 2020.

You’re not that far behind. Plenty of time to catch up!
