We are making progress!
Time for my first mid-month progress update. Having set a defined goal of paying off a minimum of $1500 each month, a mid-monthly update will hopefully give me a much clearer picture of how we are doing.
For January, we have dumped another $515 worth of debt. While this leaves us with still needing to pay off close to $1,000 yet this month, I am confident we will do it. Hubs last check was short due to a payroll error, so his next one will be a lot more. I paid everything that needed to be paid so no worries in that department. Depending on how much his check is, I intend to also pay off the bill from the surgeon which will further boost our debt pay off for the month.
I can’t help but wonder how the new tax law will affect us. With having very irregular income it may be hard actually to tell, but from every chart I’ve looked at, it shows we will see an increase. While I won’t engage in a political debate, I don’t view any increase as mere crumbs. 🙂
How are you doing so far this year with your own goals? I remain optimistic that 2018 will be a great year!

Yay for that $515 toward debt! We put $62 extra toward debt so far, above the regular payment. Yay for us, too!

That is great! Woohoo for paying off debt!

I can’t wait for a little extra in my paycheck. Every bit helps, no matter how small. You are a third of the way to your goal for the month, way to go!!
Lucy says
I agree. Every little bit does help! I’m eager too, despite not knowing what to expect!

Rock on!

Thank you!

This is great, Lucy! Congratulations on sticking with your goals. I was able to put some extra towards our mortgage this month, I know I had told you that we are trying to pay it off by July of ’19 when my hubby will be 60. We are close to having it 65% paid off now. Woo Hoo!

Thank you! You are doing great too!
