Yesterday was a crazy busy day. I put in 8 hours at my seasonal job, 2 hours at my part time job and did some things in town for my home business. In addition to that, I managed to get some personal shopping done as well.
I was asked by the director to give some guidance to the new assistant director, as I did that job (along with my current job) last year. She was correct in realizing he needed the guidance! I worked with him for solid 4 hours, and there is still a lot more that needs serious attention. I’ll be going back over later today to work with him some more. The director has also asked me to help out in other areas (more stuff I did last season), and now with no longer being salary, I’m happy to oblige. Becoming an hourly employee opposed to salary was a wise move!
After doing some work from home for my seasonal job, it was off to my part time job. Only 2 hours of work, but every little bit of time I work increases my paycheck. I was also happy to accomplish a lot of things for my home business.
As for the day being a frugal one, I decided to make a spur-of-the-moment stop at a thrift store. Earlier in the day, I had ripped my only pair of navy cotton capris. Given how threadbare they were, I didn’t figure they’d last the season. At the thrift store, I not only scored a replacement pair of navy capris but a pair of slacks, three tops and two other pairs of capris. Seven items for $23 and some change. All but one item were brands I have worn comfortably in the past, so I was pleased as punch with updating my wardrobe on the cheap. A very quick stop at the grocery store for a handful of items completed my time in town.
My day ended with cashing out for a $25 gift card to Lowes via Swagbucks. With owning a home, having some stashed away gift cards to Lowes will help offset any maintenance needs that come up. Swagbucks discounts cashing out one gift card per month. Should I reach enough for another gift card, it will be cashed out for Paypal cash which then goes towards paying off debt.
It was a busy, productive and frugal kind of day. For someone who is digging their way out of debt, it was a perfect kind of day!
How was your day? Did you do anything productive or frugal? Did you make any headway on either paying down debt or were you able add to your savings? As I like to say, keep plugging away, A Dime at a Time!

It is a huge change from how I used to shop for clothes, and I love the savings!

You are busy! Should be a good month when you get paid 😉 I currently have $85 in Swagbucks points saved up. I kind of petered out with trying to hit my daily goals this month, but I do order from Walmart.com on a regular basis and have been good about remembering to go through Swagbucks.

That is some nice Swagbucks savings you have! Any plans for what to do with it when you do cash it out?
