We have a new addition to add to our budget, and this one is a blessing! I am pleased to announce the birth of our newest grandson! He was born yesterday, making his appearance a week earlier than expected. From the pictures, he looks a lot like his sibling, with blond hair and blue eyes.
Not sure if I’ve mentioned it, but with this latest blessing, we now have a total of seven grandchildren. The oldest is a girl, followed by six (yes 6!) boys. My hunch is that this will be it for grandkids, but you never know ~ surprises can happen. So now you know why we are so broke. It’s all the extra gifts! Just kidding. We actually do keep our spending in check, even when it comes to the grandkids. But, I will still adjust the budget accordingly!
We likely won’t be able to see the new baby until next Spring. This time of year our weather is so unpredictable, so unless it is an emergency, I tend to stay close to home. In fact, starting sometime tomorrow, we are supposed to get hit with a doozy of a storm. The latest I read is 15 inches of the white stuff. Nope, I wouldn’t want to be on the roads with that coming down. Hubs is getting home just in the nick of time, with his flight arriving this evening. Guess who will be behind the snowblower? For once, it won’t be me!
Time for me to get ready for work. Have a great day!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!! What a wonderful blessing….hope I have one SOME day….sigh. Now you definitely have a goal – to save up to see the new little guy!!! We were headed to Lake Tahoe for Thanksgiving dinner with DH’s family but we are also supposed to get a doozy of a storm and there will be much snow in Tahoe so we will most likely be staying home. Quite the bummer since most of my nieces and nephews (and my 2 year old grandnephew whom I’ve never met) will be there but I am just very worried about getting stuck. I’m also worried about being in the car that long with my knee at a bent angle – not quite ready for that yet but I was going to chance it….kind of glad I don’t have to

Thank you! Being a grandparent is a fun stage of life. Hopefully a blessing you will eventually enjoy, too. Lake Tahoe is such a beautiful place, but the storms that comes through can be wicked. Just as well for you to stay home, even more so with your knee.

Thanks! And yes, the snow was passed on to us. All clear now!

Congratulations. I look forward to being a grand parent at some point, but won’t rush anyone. We get the storm following you.
Lucy says
Thanks. I never felt in a rush either. My son was in his 30s but my daughter and son-in-law started their family shortly after they got married, which made me a young grandmother. I sure do enjoy the kiddos. Hope you made it through the storm safely.
